Blizzard is going big with Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred, the game's second major expansion, set to launch on April 28, 2026, across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The expansion centers on Mephisto, the eldest of the Prime Evils and the Lord of Hatred himself, whose corrupting influence is spreading across a new region called Skovos. The Greek-inspired island chain introduces new biomes, dungeons, and a storyline that picks up directly from the threads left dangling in Vessel of Hatred. Blizzard has teased that this expansion resolves a major arc in Diablo IV's ongoing narrative.
Two new classes arrive with the expansion. The Paladin returns as a holy warrior blending melee combat with auras and divine magic, bringing back a fan-favorite from Diablo II. Joining it is the entirely new Warlock class, a dark caster that channels forbidden pacts and curse-based abilities. Both classes will be playable from level one and fully integrated into the endgame.
Beyond new classes, Lord of Hatred introduces system-wide skill tree reworks with new variants for every existing class, designed to refresh how players build characters and engage with endgame systems. A new feature called War Plans lets players craft their own endgame progression path, giving veteran players more control over how they chase power.
The standard edition is priced at $39.99, with deluxe ($59.99) and ultimate ($89.99) editions offering additional cosmetics and early access perks. Pre-purchasing any edition immediately unlocks early access to the Paladin class and the previous Vessel of Hatred expansion, including the Spiritborn class.
