Blizzard is going all-in on its biggest internal crossover yet. The Overwatch x Hatred's Reckoning event launches on April 28 alongside the Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred expansion, bringing five brand-new Legendary skins that transform Overwatch heroes into Sanctuary's most powerful archetypes. The event runs through May 18, giving players three weeks to collect some of the most striking cosmetics the game has ever produced.
The five new Legendary skins draw directly from Diablo IV's class roster and villain gallery. Ramattra takes on the form of Mephisto himself, complete with dark tendrils and demonic energy effects that replace his standard omnic aesthetics. Mauga becomes a hulking Druid, Freja channels the Rogue's lethal grace, Brigitte suits up as a holy Paladin, and Lifeweaver twists into a sinister Warlock whose healing abilities take on a distinctly cursed appearance.
Returning Fan Favorites
Hatred's Reckoning also marks the return of the original Trials of Sanctuary skins from the first Diablo crossover. Lilith Moira, Inarius Pharah, Imperius Reinhardt, and Gilded Hunter Sombra will all be available for purchase again. For players who missed the initial run, this is the second chance to complete one of Overwatch's most sought-after skin collections.
Twitch Drops and Free Rewards
Blizzard has lined up Twitch Drops running from April 28 through May 10. Watching one hour of any Overwatch-category stream with drops enabled earns the Wolf Pup Weapon Charm, while reaching two hours unlocks the Lilith Blade Weapon Charm. A new Crab with a Knife charm rounds out the free offerings as a Skovos-themed souvenir, a playful nod to the new Diablo IV region featured in Lord of Hatred.
A Shared Universe Strategy
The timing is no coincidence. Diablo IV's second major expansion, Lord of Hatred, introduces two new classes, the Paladin and Warlock, and opens up the ancient island region of Skovos. By weaving those exact class fantasies into Overwatch skins, Blizzard is creating a cross-promotional loop designed to pull players between both games during launch week. Whether you are a Sanctuary veteran or an Overwatch main, the Hatred's Reckoning event makes a compelling case that Blizzard's shared universe has never felt more interconnected.
